The "Birdwatchers Unite" ep represents Pizazz' first songs recorded in, what was at the time, their new home in Portland, OR. You'd think they'd make music better in this atmosphere. Alas, no. Turns out Pizazz will always be a band from a Long Island basement. Not a bad batch of songs, but the Pizazz spark was missing. Still, this ep serves as the turning point for the O'Shaughnessy brothers' sound, as they would soon morph into Heirs to the McQueen Fortune and The Pink Lights. I suppose it has a PDX sound to it, but that wasn't what they were going for. If you've read this far, chances are you'll listen to all four songs. So thanks ahead of time.
