Initially considered for the Throats' final album, Return of the Mountain Lion (2010), these tracks ended up in the "outtakes" folder. They were recorded around 2006-2007 at the Throats' attic studio on SE 13th (except for "Skinnybones" from 2003). Effects-laden songs about Hurrican Katrina, Hunter S. Thompson and octopus blood get the acoustic guitar/found percussion/noise-maker treatment typical of older Throats albums. Jim of the Feebs plays drums on "Baby's Last Beard".

The Throats: Martyrs guitarist leaves Long Island for Calabash, North Carolina; starts solo project as the Throats. The lost years follow from 1994-1997. Records three and a half albums; self-destructs, returns to LI, continues recording. Moves to Oregon; issues swan song in 2010. After 15 years, it's enough already. The Throats were Mike O'Shaughnessy.
