about

Recorded one July night in 1997 in Calabash, NC at the Carolina Room (Mike's bedroom). Additional overdubs and mixing completed a few days or weeks later, I don't remember. The original cassette included a recitation of "Ode" by Arthur O'Shaughnessy (no relation, well, maybe), a reading of the label on a Guinness bottle, and a rap song. The first two were excluded for copyright reasons, and the the third because it's just plain awful.

The Sleeping Brothers are Jim, Pete & Mike O'Shaughnessy. Years later they would transform into The Pink Lights.
